What is sexology?
Sexology is a field that focuses on sexual, emotional, and relational health through a holistic and compassionate approach. It offers a safe space for open dialogue, where individuals can speak freely about their emotional, relational, and sexual lives—without taboo or judgment—to better understand their needs, questions, or difficulties.
Grounded in respect and confidentiality, the goal of sexology is to promote well-being and personal fulfillment.
Life brings its share of challenges, changes, and joys, all of which can impact emotional and sexual balance. A sexology consultation can help navigate these transitions.
With care and empathy, sexology supports each person on their path to greater overall well-being, respecting their story, emotions, and choices.
I support adults and adolescents in their reflections and journeys toward an authentic, fulfilling, and respectful sexuality—toward themselves and others.
Sexopositive®
Developed by psychologist and sexologist Dr. Alexandra Hubin, the Sexopositive® approach offers a modern, respectful, and inclusive vision of sexuality. It views sexuality as an essential part of overall well-being, rather than simply a collection of problems to be solved.
This approach is grounded in several core values:
- Respect for oneself and others
- Inclusivity across all sexual, gender, and relationship diversities
- Freedom and autonomy in intimate choices
- Compassion, both in language and in therapeutic support
Unlike a model that focuses solely on disorders or dysfunctions, the Sexopositive® approach highlights individual and relational strengths, desires, pleasures, and resources. It promotes a conscious, chosen, and fulfilling sexuality in all its forms and expressions.
The sexologist, in this perspective, adopts an open, non-judgmental, and collaborative stance. The goal is not to “correct” someone based on a norm, but to help each person better understand their sexuality, reconnect with their sensations, improve communication, and build a more harmonious relationship with themselves and/or their partner.
Finally, the Sexopositive® approach places strong emphasis on sex education, seen as a tool for empowerment and prevention. It aims to provide reliable information, challenge myths, and foster an enlightened, healthy, and respectful sexuality.
